We have a bit of a problem...But Good News Too

“We have a bit of a problem.“ This is what I heard over the phone from Julie on Thursday night. Apparently the recent medical letter from our doctor was dated 2007 instead of 2008. The notary and apostille were dated 2008 but not the letter. Understand we were flying out in less than 24 hours. I had a bit of a breakdown, but by midnight I had pulled it together.

But GOOD NEWS…my family stepped right up and has everything under control. My sister in law did some leg work for us by printing a new letter and preparing our cover letter for the notary/doc to be apostilled. Between my mom, aunt, and sister in law they said they would take care of getting the letter notarized and authenticated.

My mom and grandpa came over early this morning and took us to the airport. We were on standby for a flight to take off at 1:35 this afternoon, but we got to the airport early and they put us right an earlier flight, all of our seats were together…yeah God! When we landed in Atlanta I got a text from my sister to call home asap. Eekkk!

My mom had gone to the Dr. office with the letter but the doctor refused to sign it because he had not seen Eric in months, just a ploy from the devil. Long story short, he finally signed it and my mom and grandpa took off for downtown Cincinnati to have the notary approved. Then to the post office to overnight the doc to Columbus to be apostilled then overnighted to our CHI Office. The CHI Office should have the document by Tuesday and will send it onto Colombia after being translated. We will not need the doc in Colombia for about a week, so we are fine on time, just a last minute frenzy. Thank God for flexible family, willing to run around for us. Thank you Mom, Grandpa, Sonya, Jeanie, Brian, and the rest of the gang.

So now we are in Atlanta for a long layover. I don’t mind the long layover, it’s just good we all got here and are all together. Next stop Bogota! Our flight leaves at 5pm and we don’t anticipate any trouble getting on the plane with standby status. Emi and Nate are each watching a video to pass the time.

We’ll let you know when we get there.

Oh and I almost forgot! We meet Jessica and Joaquin at 10:30am on Monday!

Last minute "scares" are probably good little reminders that God is in control, right? ;)

Praying for your safe travel and a nice weekend together as a family of 4! Monday will be here before you know it!

Blessings!
